ALZHEIMERS CAFÉ @ Elphin Day Care Centre this Friday September 7th from 11am to 1pm.

Elphin Day Centre in Co. Roscommon is launching a brand new initiative this Friday September 7th – an Alzheimers Café. Anyone with an interest in Alzheimer’s Disease is welcome to come along. The purpose of the Alzheimer’s Café is to provide an opportunity for those with the illness and their families to come together in an atmosphere of safety in the company of others familiar with the illness, and to provide a social setting where people with dementia, their families, carers and friends can meet, share and learn. People will be free to share their concerns and benefit from the experience of others.
The Alzheimers Café in Elphin is a pilot scheme to see if there is a need for such a resource for sufferers, carers and families in a large catchment area with an ageing population. The Cafe will be ran twice monthly over a 3 month period starting on Friday the 7th September from 11am to 1pm and every second Friday after that.
