FAS Training and Employment Authority have sponsored Western Alzheimers since 1994 through their Community Employment Schemes.

These schemes have made it possible for the Foundation to set up an In-Home Support service for the communities of counties Mayo, Galway and Roscommon, and provides care workers for our homes, Marian House, Ballindine and Maryfield Nursing Home, Athenry.

The training provided through the Fas Participant Development Plan ensures that staff are highly skilled. The participants have the opportunity to enhance old skills and develop new skills. This provides them with greater potential for full time employment in many areas.
